Jazz Mentoring by Talented Ottawa-Based Jazz Musicians/Educators
JazzWorks Mentors are available to visit your high school at no cost to your school!
Our mentors are well-known jazz musicians who have a wealth of experience teaching jazz ranging from performance, arranging, composition, technique, theory and jazz history. JazzWorks board members collaborate with Ottawa area high school jazz teachers to tailor the program to meet the specific needs of every classroom.
They will visit your class to teach:
- Intros & outros
- Improvisation
- Tempo & groove
- Repertoire
- Comping & accompanying
- Bandstand strategy
- And more
