![]() A little personal tale here, first. As a fairly busy graphic designer, art teacher and amateur musician, I often find myself making great efforts to balance things and accomplish everything I set out to do each day. Yesterday one of the tasks on my "to do" list was to get the buttons up and running on the website (for which I am the volunteer creator and webmaster). I had some client stuff to deal with first thing Tuesday, then ran into a little slow down creating the fee table to embed in the website. Turns out I was using the wrong Excel file, so had to redo. OK, no panic... I had a band rehearsal at Frank Gallaghers (Frank, George Buys and I) at 12:30, followed by a meeting with Judy H and Geoff from Bluesfest Festival House (he is with Dovercourt recreation, actually) about using their facilities on a more regular basis. We would like to forge a stronger partnership with them and give JazzWorks a 'home' as it were. Next a guitar lesson and a combo class lesson from Tim Bedner at Alcorn. Well, things went awry at the Excel file, so off I trundled, buttons undone (almost literally too!). My plan, create the buttons at friend Sue McCarthy's, who puts me up (and puts up with me) Tuesday evenings as I live an hour's drive away in Spencerville. While we watched the Voice over a glass of wine (or two...) I dealt with JW related emails. Plan B, get up very early and get those buttons done. OK, up at 3:30 only to realize that, while I had placed the pertinent pricing and tracking docs in my DropBox, I neglected to place the @ZX#%&* password file for JW therein. Meaning, no entry into PayPal, therefore no can do... Plan C. Get up at 6:30, drive home and get 'er done. And it is DONE, YAY! All this to say, most of us at JW are volunteers, who believe in the concept, have greatly benefited from all JW offers, built lasting friendships and had too many great experiences to count. Sue and I plan to register toute suite for the shared room at Cammac House. We will both attend the Composer's Symposium too. Can't wait! Hope to see you all there:) Mary Moore JazzWorks Board President, Marketing Chair & Webmaster To register online, <click here>
