Board member Peggy Cameron took on the responsibility of organizing this year's offering of mentored Jams, generally held on the first Sunday of the month. Under the direction of AD John Geggie, Peggy has already confirmed a stellar line-up for the upcoming sessions, which to date includes Garry Elliot, Rob Frayne, Mark Ferguson and Tim Bedner, and she is waiting to hear back from several more accomplished JW faculty to take some of the spots.
The jams are geared towards jazz musicians, both vocal and instrumental, of beginner to intermediate level, and offer a comfortable, guided arena for learning and bettering your performance skills.

As noted previously, the JazzWorks Jam moves to our new location and day this month. Join us Friday, September 18 at the Georgetown Pub, 1159 Bank Street
The jam kicks off at 8:00 pm, featuring host band "The Tuesday Night Bedner Boppers". The Boppers have been working with Tim Bedner at Gigspace for over a year now. Under Tim's direction we have put together several selections in a variety of styles to set things off for the fall season.
JazzWorks jam sessions are fundraisers to help support our outreach initiatives. There is an $8 Cover General Adm, or $5 Friends of JazzWorks, Students. If you haven't been to the Georgetown yet, you will be pleased with the set up (more condisive to listening). The food is great, too! Hope to see you there.
